The University of Applied Forest Sciences Rottenburg participates in the digital IUFRO World Day (Sonstiges | Online)

On September 28 and 29, 2021, the IUFRO World Day -a global digital event on forest science topics- will take place. The University of Applied Forest Sciences Rottenburg (HFR) will also participate in this event.

IUFRO – the International Union of Forest Research Organizations – is a worldwide network for scientific cooperation in the field of forests. Its members are organizations that deal with forest ecosystems and their services, forest products of all kinds and their use, and the people living in and with the forest. Through its work, IUFRO makes an important contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

At the first-ever virtual IUFRO World Day on September 28-29, 2021, numerous IUFRO member organizations and working groups will present their projects and network. Participants will gain insights into the current state of research on forests and their ecological, social and economic importance.
On Tuesday September 28, 2021 at 10:45 – 11:45 CEST (08:45 – 09:45 UTC), Rottenburg University of Applied Forest Sciences will present its teaching and research activities. In a short presentation at 10:45, current projects e.g. in forest ecosystem research, the innovative use of wood and from forest policy will be presented. At 11:00 a.m. an online forum will follow, in which lecturers and students of the HFR will respond to questions and discussion contributions of the participants.
